Matthew Groner's Q1 Review - The Start of 2025
Matthew Groner’s Q1, 2025 - In Review
So far, this year has been nothing short of tumultuous, epic, frantic, and exciting. In this newsletter, I will share a few updates, trips, events, and happenings that took place in what seemed like 3 months that would not end. Follow along, it’s been a wild ride. Thank you for your patience in me for getting this email done so late, I will make sure Q2’s email is much more prompt.
January
January began with a quick JSX flight to Taos, New Mexico to pick up Ben’s new-to-him E91 BMW 328xi. We flew in, took a bus down to Santa Fe, picked up the car, met with Ian in Albuquerque, had lunch with Noah, Ilyas, and Katie at Sawmill Market, and began our road trip home. We made stops along the way including Acoma Pueblo, Flagstaff, and Scottsdale, before arriving home to Los Angeles.

Just a couple weeks later, we left town to go to Oaxaca, Mexico. We explored the city, the beach, tasted new foods, hiked, tried mezcal, listened to music, and much more. It was great to catch a breath of fresh air, practice our Spanish, and enjoy some beautiful vibes. View my video below! Thank you to Jorge for his hospitality at his restaurant, Con Vista al Mar!
February was light, with just a couple car shows taking place around the area. The weather conditions were unfavorable as well.
In March, the city felt well and it opened back up. Some of the things we did was attend an LA Kings hockey game, checked out the BringATrailer Alumni Meet, and experienced the Basic.Space art gallery. View more below!

Someone PLEASE let me drive a zamboni
Post Script: early in January, fires broke out in the Los Angeles area. The hardest hit were Pacific Palisades and Altadena. These left hundreds-if not thousands-displaced, or worse. It is something I want to bring attention to, but it is difficult to make it a main piece when this newsletter is personal and talks about myself. There are thousands who have been affected. If you have any links you would like me to see, any causes worth knowing, please let me know.
