How I Spent My Spring 2025 (Q2 Edition)

Spring has sprung and we welcomed it with open arms. April was a busy month with car shows, events, and travel. I sold my Mazda3 and picked up a Lotus Elise earlier in the year, which I began to tease just a few months ago. May continued with more events, more travel, and my birthday celebrations. June capped off with (surprise, surprise) more events, car shows, but much less travel. Let’s take a closer look.

April

In April, we headed down to Orange County where the Roar of Angels was taking place. Over 40 LFAs were gathering to participate in drives, photos, and events. We caught them on their last organized day as they left a hotel in Newport Beach as they drove to South OC Cars and Coffee. Watch another video here

In April I began to reveal my 2005 Lotus Elise, the cheapest Lotus Elise in the US. I have been slow to release info, but over time I have been producing videos and posting pictures. I just hit 5,000 miles(!!!) on the clock and I have enjoyed every second of it—from city driving to canyon carving. I’m excited to keep driving this fun little rocket!

Semana Santa in Guanajuato, Mexico

Just a couple weeks later, Ale and I traveled down to Guanajuato, Mexico to celebrate Semana Santa (Easter). We saw beautifully decorated streets, watched the pasos (processions) and parades, and had delicious food of course. It was a beautiful time!

The streets are lined with dyed wood chips, made into shapes, and have crosses and stops throughout the parade route

The processions continued into the late night

And of course, I could not go without filming a video! Watch my video about the Chevy Chevy

Before April came to a close, we headed down to San Diego to attend the La Jolla Concours d’Elegance. Highlights for me included seeing some great friends and some fantastic cars! I was very elated to see Rob Walton’s Bugatti Type 57 Royale, one of the most significant vehicles ever produced. La Jolla is a beautiful location for a stunning concours!

May

In early May, my parents came to Los Angeles. On a rainy, Sunday morning, I took my father to Pasadena to check out the annual Ferrari Club of America Ferrari show. We had a blast! We loved the classic Ferraris, including the one-off Ferrari Pinin Concept.

We had a great time in San Francisco in early May celebrating Heather and Sam’s (not pictured) beautiful wedding

A few weeks later, we celebrated my birthday early by visiting Chicago for a quick trip during Memorial Day weekend. It was great seeing friends, family, and even hitting Fuelfed in Winnetka. As always, it is never enough time in the Windy City

Although it was freezing, we still managed to hit the beach and ride bikes!

On my birthday, I drove around town in the Lotus to see how many freebies I could get! I ended up with way too much sugary food, and was lucky enough to share it with those I love. We hit multiple places, and my favorites were Cheesecake Factory and Dennys. Watch the video to see where else I went!

June

Later that week (and at the beginning of June) we were privileged to attend the grand opening of the Petersen Museum’s latest exhibit. I don’t have a video yet, but I highly recommend checking it out! Of course, had to take a picture next to my dream car (the McLaren F1).

I took the Lotus to Costco to answer the question: what will fit? Surprisingly, everything fit well with a lot of room to spare. The next challenge will be something vertical. Watch the video above!

For Father’s Day, we attended the annual Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance. Highlights included this Lamborghini Miura and Ferrari Formula 1 car, as well as numerous other Ferraris, Porsches, Bugattis, Mercedes-Benzes, and more. Check out the video to view the highlights! You won’t want to miss it

Later on in June I attended Onyx Motors’ unveil of their new e-bike, the RCR 80V! The stats for this bike are insane, and I have a video coming out soon. Their hospitality was great, and the overall unveil event was very exciting. A few of the basics: 91V, 18kW, and 45Ah. It has smartphone connectivity, tubeless cast aluminum wheels, and speed of up to 65mph+

The next day, I attended the Electrify Expo. I have some videos coming soon where I was lucky to explore the Lucid Gravity, as well as Ford EV Products. Check out my friend David’s video which I helped film at the event!

The Lucid Gravity has an awesome frunk with the ability to sit and relax!

I had the chance to experience an Icon custom build as we rolled to Period Correct in Costa Mesa. Props to Ian for driving. Take a look at Icon’s builds here!

We continued the Period Correct theme, this time hopping to Santa Barbara to check out their pop-up in the freshly-opened The Post Montecito.

We capped off June with a showing of one of the newer Jurassic Park movies at a friend’s house, where he proudly displayed his Jurassic Park Jeep! Check out https://www.pkcollects.com/

I will see you soon for Car Week!
